Supply of a new CNC vertical lathe for machining heavy welded parts of tunnel stamping shields up to 11,000 mm in diameter.
The solution
Proposed solution
Based on the customer's request, we designed, assembled and delivered a heavy duty vertical lathe in a double column design with a movable portal and a single crossbar support.
Basic parameters of the machine:
- Table diameter 8.000 mm
- Distance between columns 11.800 mm
- Maximum workpiece weight 150.000 kg
- Maximum workpiece height 4.500 mm
- Columns travel 3.700 mm
- Ram travel 2,300 mm
- Maximum cutting force 100.000 N
The basic structure of the machine consists of rigid cast iron castings.
All axis travel (portal travel, support travel and ram travel) as well as table plate bearing are hydrostatic.
Ball screws are used to drive the portal and lift the crossrail, a system of rack and pinion with two motors in the Master - Slave system is used to feed the support.
Support can move along the entire length of the crossrail.
The machine is equipped with an operating platform and two control panels.
Installation
- We installed the machine in customer´s workshop, took care of its commissioning, and trained the machine operator and maintenance.
Outturn
- For VTL Blansko, a.s. it was the largest project that was realized from the drawing documentation to the assembly, commissioning and delivery to the customer.
- Thanks to our rigid and reliable machine, the customer has significantly increased productivity and expanded his production capabilities.
- The machine operates in two-shift operation six days a week to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
- The machine exhibits ever high rigidity, reliability, stability and accuracy. The customer's requirement was double the accuracy of the normal standard. This requirement has been met, all the required parameters have been achieved, which do not change even with heavy use of the machine and its high load.
- Apart from standard regular service, no significant intervention was required on the machine during or after the warranty period.
